APPEARANCE: In armor, Outside of armor (PB: Joel Heyman).

PERSONALITY:

Not a lot is going on upstairs for Caboose. One of the ideas that have been prompted is due to the amount of AI that has been in his head at one given point and time – most of which did changes to his way of thinking in one way or another. But another has been that he may very well be the only one who realizes that they are all in a videogame and talks to all the other people in his life like they are pets. Of course, there is no real way to tell one way or the other. It just seems that he is unfortunately very dim. Though, he has shown moments of brilliance like figuring out a way to get into the Freelancer base. But in general, everything seemingly falls into two categories for him: he doesn't understand, or he doesn't care.

Of course, even though those are the general two categories, he responds to them in different ways. When he doesn't understand the grav-lift, he decides that he doesn't want to go anywhere near it, or carry out the plan that Agent Washington gave them. When he didn't understand what Sarge meant by a "proposition," he still is happy that it is being given and thanks the Red for it without asking what it is. It really honestly is very situational on how it is that he will respond to the unknown. Like when he goes to the Halo Reach Campaign. Even though it is a PSA and not part of the actual canon, the personality of Caboose remains. Despite the danger of the situation, he doesn't seem to understand much of what is going on, but seems to be enjoying his "adventure" all the same. So, it is very difficult to even say if the overall danger of the moment will trigger his self-preservation tactics (what little that he does have).

It just seems like he has a general like for everyone that he meets. He talks to everyone in the same manner. Like with Andy and SHELIA, though one is a bomb AI and the other a program, he still treats them both like people and does not like it when they're treated differently. And despite his negative experiences with AI, he willingly accepts to have Delta be put into his AI port because he "likes meeting new people." The only time that he seems to not particularly like them is if they are unhelpful in trying to save his friends (e.g. FILLIS), trying to get in the way of his set-up relationships (e.g. SHELIA being interested in the robot, Lopez) or actively trying to kill him. But Caboose is relatively quick to forgive anyone of their previous actions.

When Church screams at everyone in the holo-chamber; he is the one who begins to convince the Reds, Tucker, and Agent Washington to go after them to help. Even with Carolina, he may have been scared of and wanted to spy on her to make sure that she was not going to try anything with them, but he also always had something positive to say about her. With the Reds, he treats them more like they are neighbors than those people that occasionally try to kill him. In his relationship with Donut, the two of them get along very well and both consider each other friends. He just shows a general trusting nature to everyone that he meets. It's rare that he would ever think something negative of someone. Even with Tucker, he gets along with him relatively and listens to him fairly well. Though, he never has anything really positive to say about him.

The negativity towards Tucker is completely based on how it is that he feels towards Church. As for whom Church is, that is the original leader of the Blues and actually an AI. Caboose met him when he is first stationed and has since tried to impress the other. He believes whole-heartedly that the two of them are best friends. This is why he doesn't like Tucker since he does not like anyone to try to take that "friendship slot" from him. But he is very much dependent on Church's constant presence. When Washington takes his armor, he calls the once-Freelancer 'Church' and seems to be a lot more stable than what is presently being shown when he has to acknowledge that the AI is not with them. He suffers moments of utter depression on some days while on others he is the same as he always is. Still, he does feel very lost without him.

When one actually goes into Caboose's head, it is generally how he sees the people in his life. Church states it best that they are either "really happy, or make no sense at all." Since Caboose is very happy to be around them and as such, he thinks they are equally delighted by his presence. Or they just confuse him horribly. It's rare that they are actually how they should be, and he sometimes gets his descriptions of people right, but towards the end it starts to fall apart. There actually seems to be a disconnect from what is going on around him, which returns to his lack of intelligence. For example, when Carolina wants to sync, he usually yells out a random kitchen appliance and thinks they are saying the word "sink." Also, the way for the others to see if something is overly ridiculous would be asking if Caboose understood what is going on. He seems to be the Litmus test for those sorts of situations.

Now, it is actually rare that he actually gets angry about anything. He states that he has forgotten how it is to get angry just before facing the room full of robotic Texes. However, it seems safe to say that with Epsilon-Church's help that he once more remembers how to uncover that rage, just not on his own. The only times that he shows to be getting mad is when Washington is talking poorly to SHELIA. Other than that, since that scene, he has not shown to be upset about anything to actually snap at someone. So, it is very rare that this actually happens and it seems like the others do not actually want him in this state save when facing overwhelming odds and needs to have him level the field. Even Caboose doesn't seem to like it that much.

ABILITIES:

Super strength. Caboose has shown to be one of the strongest. He does not even have to be in his berserk rage to be able to access it, either, as he has shown to be able to flip over a Warthog all by himself just by being asked. This just gives the impression that he's in the ranks as part of the strongest men on Earth contests. Of course, when his anger is actually triggered, he can become a full-on tank against the enemy. He is able to run through a horde of robotic Texes – throwing them all out of the way. It does not seem like he recognizes injury in this state, versus when he isn't raging when he responds to all stimuli that would be considered painful with sensitivity that one in full-body armor should not. This is all done in an obsolete suit, by the by.

Engineering. It is very odd that despite his lack of intelligence that he seems to be quite good at engineering. However, this seems like this might actually be accidental rather than something he is purposely trying to do. Meaning, that while it comes out with the results that he wants, he is never quite sure what it is that he did to achieve said goal. Like in able to put Epsilon into the alien artifact or later into the Mongoose. Though with the latter, he had the help of Simmons. Reason why this does not seem to be quite right is that he originally tried to make a body for Epsilon at the beginning with parts he found around Blue Base. Unfortunately, the end result was that he set the base and himself on fire. Also, when he was working with the vehicles when he was relocated, they all ended up breaking down and also on fire. So it seems more like outright luck that works in his favor versus anything else, but will list it as engineering skills -- luck engineering. One will key into Random.ORG and decide the difficulty then roll to see if he actually was able to fix or set fire to everything.

POSSESSIONS: His suit, his assault rifle, magnum, SMG, and Battle Rifle.
